Edwin Dertien works as a researcher and teacher for the bachelor track ‘Creative Technology’ at the University of Twente. Besides his work as teacher, he is pursuing a Phd on inspection robots for live gas mains. As media artist, he makes large robot inspired objects for festivals and expositions.

Edwin has been invited as speaker on various occasions. Besides (professional) presentations at technology events also fun stuff such as TEDx Amsterdam 2012 and Dream-it – Make-it Share-it series at the Rijksmuseum Twenthe (2015) and the Zwarte Cross (2015) discussing topics like art, technology and creativity.
